Thermo pine timber – a calibrated, stable and durable choice for terrace framing
Thermo pine timber is a calibrated and durable solution for the framework of terraces, roofs and other lightweight structures. Thanks to a special heat treatment, it acquires exceptional resistance to moisture, deformation and environmental influences. This calibrated timber ensures a smooth surface and precise dimensions, making installation even easier and the overall quality of the structure higher.
Origin of Thermo Pine Logs
Our terrace lags are supplied by Lunawood, a Finnish company with over 20 years of experience in the production of thermowood. Lunawood ThermoWood® products are distinguished by their exceptional dimensional stability, durability and natural beauty. The wood is processed at high temperatures, without chemicals, making it environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Calibrated pine plank – precise dimensions and easy installation
This thermo pine beam is carefully calibrated, so its dimensions are extremely precise and the surface is uniformly smooth. This makes installation easier, maintains a stable frame, and ensures an aesthetic result.
Resistance to moisture and rot
Heat treatment removes moisture-absorbing substances from the wood, making calibrated thermo pine lumber highly resistant to moisture and less prone to rotting. It is ideal for outdoor use, even in difficult climatic conditions.
Longevity and durability
Thermo pine planks are highly resistant to biological agents such as fungus, mold, and pests, ensuring their durability even without additional impregnation.
An ecological choice
Calibrated thermo pine planks are made from sustainably grown wood and are PEFC certified. Only heat is used in the processing process, so there are no chemical additives that could harm the environment or human health.
Universal application
This timber is perfect not only for terrace structures, but also for the frames of roofs, gazebos or other outdoor structures. Due to its calibration, it is easy to use for both professional construction work and independent projects.
Maintenance and operation
Since thermal pine planks absorb little moisture, they do not require complex maintenance. However, to maximize their lifespan, it is recommended to follow these tips:
Ensure that the batten is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, maintaining appropriate distances between them.
To further extend the service life, we recommend using a special lag strip that protects the lath from direct exposure to moisture.
Installation
The MDS terrace expert team recommends using thermal pine logs for the installation of lightweight building structures.
