Thermo pine siding is not only environmentally friendly, but also resistant to woodbores and rot. They are characterized by stability, sustainability and durability, immunity to environmental factors, withstand large changes in humidity and temperature. Due to the authentic processing technology used, outdoor paneling from thermal pine acquires an aesthetic advantage. Thermally treated outdoor siding is less likely to crack and chip than other types of boards that are popular in our country.
Thermal wood
Thermal wood is wood treated with steam and heat at a temperature of 180-215ยฐC. Under the influence of the heat treatment process, the structure of the wood changes, the resistance of the paneling to external factors increases. The reaction to changes in humidity in the environment is reduced, regardless of changing weather conditions, the shape of the thermal pine facade board remains stable. The effects of heat treatment on pine wood are most evident: dimensional stability, color darkness, and durability.
Dimensional stability
Outdoor paneling thermal pine is stable: it does not split, it does not warp, it does not “walk” like other types of wood, such as hardwoods. They hold their own perfectly form and color.
Color darkness
Thermo pine terrace boards have a rich brown colour, which depends on the temperature during the treatment process – the higher the temperature, the darker the colour.
Longevity
The properties of thermally treated wood are improved by the burning of cellulose – protein during the treatment process, so thermal pine boards do not rot and become more durable. This is relevant in the unstable and rather harsh climate of Lithuania.
Quality class
The facade board of this thermal pine belongs to the AB quality class. It is a type of wood that meets high quality standards. Read more in the “Quality description” section. AB-type siding is a mixture of A and B-type boards (ratio A – 70%, B – 30%). If you are looking for stable, high-quality wood for your terrace, choose thermal panels of northern pine.
Processing class
The TermoD wood treatment class means that Nordic pine wood is heated up to 212ยฐC and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Outdoor siding: maintenance
For the aesthetic appearance and to maintain the color of the thermal pine panelling, we recommend covering the surface with WOCA EXTERIOR OIL oil with pigment (the color range includes 13 colors, one of which is natural). MDS terraces recommends renewing the terrace boards every year (depending on the operating conditions and the direction of the terrace installation).
