WPC decking board color upgrade

Color renewal of WPC decking boards: 5 steps

WPC composite decking boards are designed as a durable decking finish. After installing the terrace, we always expect an ideal view, but UV rays and other weather conditions affect the boards, so the brightness of their colors fades a little. Together with WOCA oil specialists, we want to share tips on how you can easily update the color of a wood-plastic composite terrace.

Although WOCA oil is designed for oiling natural wood decks, WOCA technologists also confirm that WPC boards can be perfectly renewed with this oil. We share tips on how to oil WPC wood-plastic composite terrace with Danish oil WOCA.

The main stages of using WOCA oil with pigment

Shake the can of oil well before starting to oil.
After opening the package with the oil, mix it well again and repeat the process once in a while – this way you will avoid pigment settling and possible uneven color streaks.
Oil a board or two at a time, evenly along the entire length, so that there are no uneven color transitions.
Rub the oil with a cloth and wipe off the excess very well. WOCA We recommend wiping off excess oil within 5 minutes. This condition is necessary because the WPC board will not absorb oil so much, and the excess may not dry completely and attract dirt.
Although WOCA oil dries quickly, it reaches full maturity within 24-48 hours, so do not rush to use the terrace immediately after oiling.
It is important to mention what should not be done when oiling the boards – you should not oil the decking boards when they are damp or in direct heat.

What is the best way to oil the terrace?

When oiling the terrace, several methods of covering it are possible.
The sponge is chosen by those who like careful work – when applying oil with a sponge, there will be no excess oil.

A brush is the most popular tool for oiling the terrace. It is convenient because it can be used when the stem is connected. When oiling with a brush, it is convenient to apply the gaps and reach the edges.
A special applicator with a sponge is the fastest way to coat decking boards with oil. It is the easiest to work with when renovating the terrace. It is important to carefully remove excess oil when using the applicator, so that you do not multiply the oil and it does not run into the gaps. The oiling applicator also has an additional shaft for extension, so it is convenient to work while standing.
