Outdoor siding for terraces and other structures
Thermal pine decking boards for terraces are not only environmentally friendly, but also resistant to woodworm and rot. They are characterized by stability, sustainability and durability, immunity to environmental factors, withstand large changes in humidity and temperature. Due to the authentic processing technology used, outdoor siding boards made of thermal pine gain an aesthetic advantage. Thermally treated outdoor siding boards are less likely to crack and warp than other types of boards that are popular in our region.
Thermo wood
Thermowood is wood treated with steam and heat at a temperature of 180-215°C. The thermal treatment process changes the structure of the wood, increasing the resistance of the siding to external factors. The reaction to changes in humidity in the environment is reduced, regardless of changing weather conditions, the shape of the thermo pine facade board remains stable.
The most significant effects of heat treatment on pine wood are: dimensional stability, color darkness, and durability.
Dimensional stability
Thermo pine outdoor decking is stable: it does not split, warp, warp, or “walk” like other types of wood, such as hardwoods. It retains its shape and color perfectly.
Color darkness
Thermo pine decking boards have a rich brown color, which depends on the temperature during the treatment process – the higher it is, the darker the color.
Longevity
The properties of thermally treated wood improve as cellulose, a protein, burns out during the treatment process, making thermal pine boards more durable and resistant to rotting. This is important in the unstable and rather harsh climate of Lithuania.
Quality class
This thermal pine facade board belongs to the AB quality class. It is a type of wood that meets high quality standards. Read more in the “Quality Description” section.
AB type siding is a mixture of A and B type boards (ratio A – 70%, B – 30%).
If you are looking for stable, high-quality wood for your terrace, choose northern pine thermal siding.
Processing class
The TermoD wood treatment class means that Nordic pine wood is heated to 212°C and is suitable for use in indoor and outdoor applications.
Outdoor decking for terraces: maintenance
For aesthetic appearance and to maintain the color of thermo pine siding, we recommend coating the surface with WOCA EXTERIOR OIL pigmented oil (there are 13 colors in the color range, one of which is natural). MDS Terraces recommends renewing the terrace boards every year (depending on operating conditions and the direction of installation of the terrace).
