Thermo wood boards are not only ecological, but also resistant to woodbores and rot. They are characterized by stability, sustainability and durability, immunity to environmental factors, withstand large changes in humidity and temperature. Due to the use of authentic processing technology, thermal pine boards gain an aesthetic advantage, their surface becomes soft, non-abrasive, and it is pleasant to walk on them barefoot.
Thermal wood
Thermal wood is wood treated with steam and heat at a temperature of 180-215°C. Under the influence of the heat treatment process, the structure of the wood changes, and the resistance of terrace boards to external factors increases. The reaction to changes in humidity in the environment is reduced, regardless of changing weather conditions, the shape of the thermal pine terrace board remains stable.
The most significant effects of heat treatment on pine wood are: dimensional stability, color darkness, and durability.
Dimensional stability
The thermal pine board is stable: it does not split, warp, curl or “walk” like other types of wood, such as hardwoods. It perfectly retains its shape and color.
Color darkness
The thermal pine board has a rich brown color, which depends on the temperature during the treatment process – the higher it is, the darker the color.
Longevity
The properties of thermally treated wood are improved by burning the cellulose – protein during the treatment process, so thermal pine boards do not rot and the terrace becomes more durable. This is relevant in the unstable and rather harsh climate of Lithuania.
Quality class
This thermo-pine board is quality class B. It is a type of wood that meets high quality standards. Read more in the “Quality description” section. Due to its technical characteristics, it is perfect for long-term construction projects.

The TermoD wood treatment class means that Nordic pine wood is heated to 212°C and is suitable for use in indoor and outdoor applications.
Installation
The MDS Terrace Expert Team recommends installing pine terrace boards using helical foundations, CAMO invisible fastening system and Protech screws.
Maintenance
For aesthetic appearance and to maintain the color of thermo pine terrace boards, we recommend coating the surface with WOCA EXRERIOR OIL oil with pigment (there are 13 colors in the color range, one of which is natural). MDS terraces recommends renewing the terrace boards every year (depending on operating conditions and the direction of installation of the terrace).
