Burnt terrace boards
Burnt terrace boards acquire a unique texture and an exceptional aesthetic appearance. They are durable, resistant to water, fire, mold, pests, splitting, cracking and other external factors. Easy to maintain, non-smearing surface.
Burnt wood processing technology
Burnt wood for facades and outdoor projects is processed using the time-tested, centuries-old Japanese woodworking technology “yakisugi”. This traditional eastern woodworking method was born to protect wood from environmental factors, ensuring its longevity and durability.
Treated wood not only gains aesthetic and technical advantages, but also becomes a sustainable solution. Burnt wood is ecological, friendly to the environment and human health. It is impregnated with natural oils, which do not contain any harmful chemicals. Thus protected, burnt wood boards become resistant to mold, UV rays, cracks, and rodents.
Wood burning process
The wood processing process begins with its burning at extremely high temperatures. This is followed by cooling the boards, thorough cleaning, combing and coating with natural oils. After a specific burning process, the structure of the wood changes, it becomes less permeable to water, non-combustible and much more resistant to external factors than unburned wood. The texture of the burned boards acquires a distinctive visual appearance, the authentic wood pattern and unique color spectrum become evident. When burning wood, its color changes and becomes rich black, gray, brownish or even greenish.
Quality class
Pine or spruce decking boards belong to the AB quality class. This is a type of wood that meets high quality standards. Read more in the “Quality Description” section.
If quality is your priority, choose AB type boards for your terrace. This decision will pay off in the long term, requiring less effort to maintain than pine or spruce boards.
AB type decking boards are a mixture of A and B type boards (ratio A – 70%, B – 30%).
Caring for burnt wood
One of the advantages of a burnt terrace board is its easy maintenance, which does not require a lot of time and resources. Although it is advisable to care for burnt wooden boards regularly, the maintenance process is quite simple – every few years the boards need to be oiled with natural oils. Then the natural burnt boards will maintain their unchanged appearance and will last for many years.
