This decision will pay off in the long run, as larch boards will require less effort to maintain. AB type boards are a mixture of A and B type boards, consisting of 70% type A and 30% type B boards.
Installation and maintenance of larch boards
Our MDS terrace expert team recommends installing larch terrace boards using screw foundations and CAMO invisible fastening system A2 wood screws . If installing from above, choose Expandet or another type of stainless steel wood screws.
There is a myth that larch boards can be left unoiled and will last “forever”. The truth is that high-quality oil does not peel off, and it is recommended to oil larch. Boards prepared in this way will be less brittle and will not have knots. The oil moisturizes the wood, so it cracks less, gives it color and a more aesthetic appearance. If you want to get an “aged wood” effect, you can cover the larch decking board with iron sulfate, called green stone, which immediately turns the wood a gray-green color.
