Wood burning process
The wood processing process begins with burning it at extremely high temperatures. Next comes cooling of the boards, thorough cleaning, combing and coating with natural oils. After a specific burning process, the structure of the wood is changed, it becomes less permeable to water, non-flammable and much more resistant to external factors than unburnt wood. The texture of the burnt boards acquires a unique visual appearance, the authentic wood pattern and unique color spectrum emerge. When burning wood, its color changes and becomes rich black, gray, brownish or even greenish.
Quality class
The pine or spruce terrace board belongs to the AB quality class. It is a type of wood that meets high quality standards. Read more in the “Quality description” section. If quality is your priority, choose AB type boards for your terrace. This decision will pay off in the long run, pine or spruce boards will require less maintenance. Type AB decking boards are a mixture of type A and type B boards (ratio A – 70%, B – 30%).
Maintenance of burnt wood
One of the advantages of burnt wood is simple maintenance that does not require a lot of time and resources. Although it is advised to care for burnt wood boards regularly, the maintenance process is quite simple – every few years the boards need to be oiled with natural oils. Then the brown (Bankirai) burnt boards will retain their unchanged appearance and serve for many years.
