Oil stains on WPC boards. Can it be cleaned?

Is it possible to clean oil stains on WPC boards? Usually, such questions do not arise and we do not even think about them until we face them ourselves. The MDS terrace team faced this problem during one season. When installing the terrace, we touched the oiled frame with the upper side of the board. Stains remain. What to do? High-quality, penetrating oil, how to clean it?
We turned to WPC terrace board manufacturers for help. They recommended and gave us some “secret liquid” to try. There was no label on the bottle with information about what it was. After using the mysterious preparation, the spots faded a little, but did not disappear completely.
The question arose as to what to do to consumers if such a problem occurs while operating their terrace.
We did an experiment.
Is it possible to clean lime stains on WPC boards: progress of experimental activities
We bought a cleaner at a building materials supermarket.
For the test, we used pine sap oil “Gjoco” (very sticky) and simple two-stroke oil.
After the first cleaning, we got a barely noticeable result. According to the instructions, in this case it is recommended to repeat the cleaning procedure again and wash the board with water. So we did.
After the second cleaning with the product, the result was much better, but there were traces of the product, probably because we did not rinse the board enough.
Conclusion: the result of oil removal from WPC terrace board depends on many circumstances: what kind of board it is, what kind of oil, how long it has been since the oil got on the board. However, it is possible to clean the boards from oil stains.
