How to install LED lighting for the terrace

How to install LED lighting for the terrace?
MDS terrace partner craftsman Giedrius from @terasele shared his experience on how to install LED lighting for the terrace. The entire process of installing LED lighting around the perimeter of the terrace is captured in photos that will help you better understand the progress of the work.
We know that our readers are interested in the budget of such a project, so let’s start the story with economic indicators.
Lighting system
Giedrius buys all lighting materials from the company Lemona. Components of the system: LED strip (Giedrius shared that he only buys high-quality “Korean” ones), “trafe” (transformer – current converter), some wires and a U aluminum profile to insert the LED. The price of such a system is about 15 eur/m, if the line is ~10 m long. For larger quantities, the price decreases accordingly. As for the choice of “trafo” (transformer) – calculate approximately 7 W per meter of LED. For example, a 8-10 m LED strip will require an 80 W current converter.
Installation price
LED installation costs approximately 10-15 eur/m, depending on how many meters, which boards and which craftsman will perform the installation work. If you do the work yourself, you will need to invest another currency – your time.
Installation process
A groove for an aluminum profile is installed/milled in the edge board of the terrace floor.
An aluminum profile is pasted, and an LED strip is attached to it.
The skirting board is attached to the rafters at angles for support from below.
How much you need to remove from the frame depends on how you will shape the sides. Approximately 3 cm is needed for the side board and the same for lighting.
That’s all you need to do if you want to fly a Starship spaceship in your backyard on a summer night!
